A case study of project and stakeholder management failures in the Elisabeth Line

DescriptionThe focus of this dissertation is to determine and analyse the main reasons that led the project to be over time and over budget. Although enough bibliography is focusing on specific matters such as political influence, underestimating budget, engineering failures, this paper should try from a critical perspective to create a holistic frame and determine the main reasons in the literature analysis. In the main part, a critical analysis of how those barriers were handled should be established from a project management perspective, and maybe with a comparison of other megaprojects. A governance structure analysis should also help the reasoning of why this project failed to be delivered in time and in budget. In the conclusion, recommendations for future megaprojects should be established, in the matter of how better governance and management could foresee planning failures and misorientation of the main stakeholders.
