Coms 150 intro to coms studies

For this essay, you will identify a piece of media (television show, movie, fashion magazine etc) that has influenced your view on your gender, femininity, and/or masculinity. Provide some (not a lot) context for your chosen media example, analyze it using course readings and concepts, and explain how it shaped your perspective on gender- specifically your own gender. (GENDER USE FEMALE)

Reflection papers are meant to be personal- combining your opinion, experience, or insight with what you learned. The purpose of these assignments is to provide insight into gendered communication theory and practice, to enhance your own ability to think critically about issues involving communication and gender, and to uncover your own taken-for-granted cultural and/or communicative assumptions in regard to gendered roles, behaviors, and relationships.

Papers will integrate ideas and theories from our texts and class lectures. You must employ terminology and refer to readings in bold and italics in order to receive maximum credit. Do not give me definitions of terms or random quotes from the textbook that aren’t integrated into your own ideas and experiences.MUST USE NOTES AND TEXTBOOK. Can use outside sources but only 2-3, everything else should be from the notes and textbook

• Refer to concepts/terms/theories from the textbook or readings at least three times
• Bold and italicize concepts/terms/theories the first time used
• 2-4 pages, 12pt Times New Roman font, double spaced, 1-inch margins
• In-text citations required (MLA or APA), but nor works cited/reference page required if only using class texts
